Helping Little Hearts Cope With Grief
The Helping Little Hearts Cope With Grief collection has been created to help children understand death, express difficult emotions and navigate grief in a gentle, age-appropriate way.
Each beautifully illustrated story explores a different experience of loss through relatable characters, compassionate storytelling and practical coping tools that children can understand and use.
From the death of a parent, sibling, grandparent or friend to feelings of guilt, anxiety, confusion and loneliness, the series helps children make sense of emotions that can otherwise be difficult to explain.
Many of the books also include practical grief toolkits, calming techniques, memory activities and guidance for parents, carers and professionals, making them suitable for use both at home and in supportive settings.
Ideal for:
• Children experiencing bereavement or loss
• Parents, carers and families
• Primary schools and teachers
• Pastoral and wellbeing teams
• School counsellors and therapists
• Bereavement services and support organisations
• Hospices, community groups and faith organisations
Created by Wayne Hutchinson and Nadeen Swaby of Handle My Affairs, the collection gives children a safe way to talk about death, understand their feelings and remember the people they love.
Gentle stories. Big feelings. Practical support for little hearts.
