Eastbury Community School Brings Helping Little Hearts Cope With Grief Into the Classroom

We're delighted to share that Eastbury Community School has introduced our Helping Little Hearts Cope With Grief book series into their setting, thanks to Aisha Raymond, who arranged for the books to come into school.

Grief touches children in all sorts of ways, the loss of a parent, a grandparent, a sibling, a friend, or a much-loved pet and it's a subject many children end up carrying quietly, without always having the words to talk about it. Books like these are designed to give children, and the adults supporting them, some of that language, so difficult feelings become a little easier to name and understand.

Co-author Nadeen Swaby shared the news, encouraging other school leaders, teachers, SENCOs, pastoral leads and wellbeing coordinators to consider bringing the series into their own settings too.

Aisha Raymond described being part of the initiative as a privilege, noting that children can't leave what they're going through at the school gates, so having the right language and understanding matters just as much in the classroom as anywhere else.

If you're part of a school or organisation thinking about how to support grieving children, you can explore the full Helping Little Hearts Cope With Grief collection.
